ARRAN

A country formally allied to Samâla, but since the invasion by Saral, the king of the Arran became more pro-Saral in it's politics, to persuade Saral not to invade.
Geography
It consists of very mixed Land, bordering to Lakyran in the south and to plains in north (Karima) and west (Saral) and to mountains and a small forest in the east (Kaman), the mountains are disputed territories with Kaman, and some quarrels have taken place there.
Capital
Nairn, A large coastal city, on the edge to Lakyran's northern coast,
a old city, from the time Samâla was built, the noble quarters are very
rich but there are also very poor blocks in the harbor areas.
Nairn is the only major city in Arran, mostly small villages and farms in
the other parts of the country.
Regent
Sa'Var Tander, Zori - King of Arran, has ruled for about 10
years, his father was a much harder and more disciplined ruler, Sa'Var has
fallen for the pleasures of his post.
In his mid 40:ies he has already began to be a large and lazy man, he is
very intelligent though, and due to excellent trade agreements he has made
Arran a very rich country, he's trying to keep it a secret so he wont get
enemies.
Under him there are a council of merchants who acts as his advisors.
After the forced alliance the Lord Magician - Laranis is ruling much of
the power, at least controlling the king.
Religion
The Most practiced religion is Valris, but in the capital there are temples for most of the other lords of Orhan.
Military
Most of Arran's army is highly trained professional soldiers, mostly
infantry, getting constant training from exercises and the border quarrels
with Kaman, the soldiers come for all of the World, and it has become a
bit of a prestige to join the army of Arran. Great for Merc's if they are
looking for job in other lands.
Although the army is not so big, it is enough for protecting the land from
foreign invaders; at least that is what they thought 'til the massive
forces of the dragon lord confronted them.
To protect the land and the ruler an alliance was made.
History
Arran has been a free nation for about 600 years, was a part of Samâla
earlier, and the connection to that country is still strong.
In the year 6054 TEI the wars in Saralis finally caught Arran in the
turmoil. The Dragon sends a few men to Arran's court to force a alliance
and to aid Saral in their struggle against Dorman and the forces of
Lorgalis, confronted with such superior force the government of Arran was
forced to do as it was told. Shortly thereafter Arranian forces crossed
the Saral-Arran border and joined the defenders of Samâla. At that point
nobody suspected their treason, it was not shown until in the winter when
the forces of Wulris showed their real flag and occupied Saral in the name
of Sulthon Ni'Shaang, and the Arran forces aided them in the Occupation.
