The characters of the campaign

Arim Markellos (AS)

Arim is the third son of a baron that has his manors northwest of Haalkitaine, as the third son he has not much hope in any inheritance and only has the title of baronet, something he has managed to acquire through foul play and all the money his allowance can manage.

To manage in the big city on his rather limited money and to be able to keep his flamboyant lifestyle he has been forced to find other means of making money, something that has led him in to a shadier lifestyle.

If someone needs something Arim is the man to go to, finding illegal substances can be hard for nobles since they can't very well go slumming themselves to find it, after all they have a social status to think about, and that is where Arim comes in to the picture. Due to his extensive knowledge around the city and the people he meets as a fence he can get almost anything people want and that he is willing to supply.

Arim is 180 cm tall, well built, has black well-groomed hair, thin moustache and beard. He has pale skin and intense blue eyes and is quite handsome.

Disadvantages:

Rivalry with his siblings about his father's title, since they do not care much at all for each other they can go to most lengths to stop the other from reaching that position.
He has a strong contempt for the mail part of his family, i.e. his father and his brothers; this is mostly based on their lack of respect against women, and is fuelled more by the rivalry.
He also has a strong contempt for Zori, their aloof way and the fact that they are among the ruling classes all through Rhakhaan.
He tries to live by the code of chivalry, always helping the weaker, showing great respect for women and would go to great lengths to help a woman in need. (need to figure out how this goes with seduction).
His only real fear is diseases, and that one is a really strong one… he goes to great lengths to avoid people who seem sick, hospitals that are full of them and so on. At the word of a plague or something he would not leave his apartment for weeks.
Lately he has started making a reputation of himself as a duellist, having won more then he lost. One day he might even be known throughout the land. His preferred weapon of choice is the small sword that is becoming more common among the nobles, but for big events it is still the traditional bastard sword that is the weapon chosen by most.

Ron the knee (FB)

Ron the knee is a known and feared name in the underground community of Haalkitaine; he is a cutthroat and a thug.

Growing up in the worst parts of Haalkitaine without ever knowing his parents Ron had a hard life. Being as big as he is helped him out of most situation though and he was fast to start with his criminal lifestyle, as young starting with burglary and running errands for the larger criminals in the city, he soon started with more violent crimes though, robbery, protection and things like that, this was more his area of expertise and soon he gained a reputation of being very brutal and not many dared to oppose him, and those few who did usually ended up as rat food somewhere in the sewers.

Lately his life is picking up a little though, he has entered service of a young noble that is in need of a skilled body guard, this also gives him a little protection from the city guard and other elements.

He is not very intelligent, he can not read or write, does not know any manors at all and don't have any knowledge at all besides what he needs to survive in the city, but that is something he is good at instead, even though not intelligent he is very street smart and knows the ways of the underworld.

Ron is a really large man, about 6 feet and weights over 100 kilos, all muscles. He has dark shortcut and unwashed hair, dark eyes, always a few days unshaved. His big "boxer nose" and the many scars he has does not add on to a pleasant appearance… he is a man to be feared, not loved. His dark voice sounds most of the time as if he is coming down with a cold, mostly because his nose has been broken one time to many.

Disadvantages:

Ron is very easy to recognize due to his large stature and scarred face.
He has gained a very bad reputation in the city and is feared by most people who have heard about him, the nickname Ron the knee is not given to him without cause.
Part of what has given him that reputation is the fact he lets no one get away with wronging him. He always repays his debts, and this is very often very fatal for the one wronging him.
His known appearance and reputation has also made him known by the city guard, they know he is up to no good and are looking for a chance to get him hanged once and for all. He is very high on their list of usual suspects and he has gotten quite used to be beaten up and thrown in jail by them, so far though he has not done anything worth hanging… what they can prove.
Money is a important thing in Ron's life, he grown up knowing that if one has that one can go as far as one wants, so he always try to acquire more, through robbery and extortion.
He is very loyal to the ones who pay him to do a job, so far he has not let anyone down except a few times when the other part paid him more, but he always does what he is paid to do.
Ron likes to drink, usually a lot too when he has money, unfortunately for all those around him he gets in a terrible mood drinking, and many nights end up with a broken tavern and Ron waking up in the jail with a few broken ribs.
Due to his bad childhood he has a real dislike for the ruling classes of the country, being a simple man he focuses all that dislike on the most common ruling class… the Zori… even though he is not intelligent he is street smart at least, so he would not do anything irrational about his dislike… unless of course he was quite drunk.
