Church Company murdered by savage Y’kin
A few weeks ago a force of soldiers from our beloved church was murdered by an army of the infidel Y’kin. The Esov Inquirer has managed to get an interview with Sergeant Wil Ofran, one of the few survivors of the incident. This is his story -
'We had followed the enemy to the lands bordering to Ostland, and found their camp some ways into the mountains. We made camp and prepared to attach the heathens at first light.
During the night they must have worked their foul sorceries, because despite of our best men standing guard on our camp two creatures from the abyss managed to infiltrate. The creatures looked like a cross between a dæmon of the pale and a Gark.
The forces of Charón managed to set most of our tents on fire, scare away some of our horses and the chaos that ensued bereft most of us of sleep that night.
At dawn we realized that the black devils had taken position about a mile away, up a slight incline. They barely outnumbered us, and as everyone knows one solider of the Lords are worth at least 20 Y’kin. We had to leave our horses because of the terrain, but that also meant that the enemy would have no chance of fleeing the wrath of Kuor on horseback either. This would be the day when we showed those stinking heathens that Rhakhaan is off limits to infidels.
As we approached, victory in our hearts, arrows, spears and stones started pouring over us. The losses were heavy but acceptable, all was going well and the pillaged houses and mansions were about to be avenged when the sorcery started. The stones themselves caught fire, incinerating our troops. Balls of fire and darkness came from above; walls of fire hindered every attempt to attack. As we retreated we spied their leader, a tall Dyari elf, clearly the mastermind behind the incursion. If we could have killed him, the savages would have broken down to the uncivilized rabble that they are, instead of using the honor less but effective strategy that the Dark Elf enforced upon them.
As we were about to make our controlled retreat a roar came from the attackers. From nowhere mounted Y’kin appeared above us, charging down the slope while yelling 'YUGAL!'.
Yugal is one of the dæmon gods worshipped by the Y’kin, also known as Akalatan, he is the god of perverted sexuality and death – Authors note
'The dark gods must have ridden with them, because very few of them died while charging our positions. We were routed to a man, and I sustained a wound that would have been lethal were it not for the training I received from the church and the ministrations of the Sisters. '
The sergeant was found comatose, the only survivor, in a pile of corpses.
'Somewhere out there is a Y’kin running around with the sword that the Archprelate blessed when I was accepted into the service of the United Church of Orhan. I wow that I will join the first expedition of vengeance into the lands of these savages.'

Official church spokesmen decline to comment of the possibility of a church sponsored raid into the land of the dæmon worshipers next summer.
