PeragiCAPITAL - OTHER CITY'S - RULER SHIP - RELIGION - MILITARYThe largest isle and home of the Peragians, a people who have been seafaring for centuries. Although the Peragians have spread throughout the archipelago, Peragi is still counted as their homeland. The northern parts of the isle is covered with dense jungles and two volcano's dominating the landscape, the highest, "Glass Blade" is still active and new lava pours into the jungle below now and then and it can often be heard roaring, followed with slight tremors. The southern parts of the isle is burned down for herding and farming and most of the Bay of Cabân (SW) is covered with the city and small villages CapitalCabân, 4.200 inh. Located in the well-protected Bay of
Cabân, it is a fairly large city, bursting with trade. Other City'sBremor, 2.800 inh. Located at the eastern, rockier side of the isle. It is the main port for the Ships of the Peragi Pirates. The city is placed on a steep side of the rocky coast with all the streets sloping towards the sea. Saba, 1.800 inh. Bonâr, 1.200 inh. Arba, 800 inh. Actually a isle of it's own, but Isle, City and the fort all bear the same name. RulershipThe Peragi Isles are ruled from a single body of traders and lords, the council is located in Cabân. They descide which ships that can be attacked, which they should trade with and the more common inland doings. They consists of 8 Traders and 3 Landlords, Lord Corta af Bremor leads the council but the traders have the most influence since their greater number. ReligionMost people here pray to I'viri, daughter to the King of the Seas,
thinking it would be stupid to draw the attention of the destructive Sea
King. They pray for luck with catches and sailing. In almost every port
are there small shrines to I'viri. She is not prayed to in larger churches
or temples though. MilitaryThe Peragians have no real Military, all men begin their weapon training when they are 14, and so all villages have militia. The only unified force of the isles is the fleet, probably the strongest fleet of all human lands, and the men and women serving there are skilled marines (pirates). Back to Main Isles Page |
