The Peragians
Short (5'- 5'10") and stocky built, very agile, they are very endurable to heat and thirst. They are mostly dark or black-haired and deep blue or brown eyes; they dress lightly and in cool materials, often in silk in bright colors.
Masters of the sea, they have the knowledge that allow them to cross the great seas (sextant and compass) and nothing about the sea can ever scare a Peragian. The favored ships of the Peragians are sleek sloops, not capable of carrying more than 30 to 40 men but very maneuverable and fast. During the recent years the Peragians have become more and more ruthless, loosing the former diplomatic connections with Dorcade.
The Peragians, although named after the largest isle are spread throughout the archipelago, in over a hundred settlements, the largest being on Peragi.
Culturally it is a very understanding people, it is a man-dominated society but there are no occupational limits for women and they are not considered worth any less.
One aspect that make them seem barbaric in the eyes of other human races is that slavery is a common thing, p.o.w.'s are almost always subject to slavery.
